HCSO Internet Crime Unit
The Hillsdale County Sheriff's Office Internet Crime Unit serves to protect our community from those who would use the web to harm others. This includes child pornographers, identity thieves, software and media pirates and other criminals who use the technology in an attempt to circumvent the law.
With the popularity of social networking on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. children and youth are increasingly being exposed to those who use these venues to stalk and exploit children. Even though parents and caretakers may feel that their children know more about computer technology, it is still vital to guide them on safe practices while using the Internet. The following web sites are excellent sources of information and resources covering all areas of cyber safety.
